Overseas Pakistanis living in the United Arab Emirates sent approximately $696 million in remittances to Pakistan during February 2026, making the UAE the largest source of inflows for the month, according to data released by the State Bank of Pakistan.
The central bank reported that Pakistan received around $3.3 billion in total remittances in February, with the UAE surpassing Saudi Arabia as the leading contributor.
Economists say the steady flow of remittances plays a crucial role in supporting Pakistan’s economy by strengthening foreign exchange reserves and easing pressure on the country’s external accounts.
Meanwhile, a special ceremony was held in Sharjah to acknowledge the contribution of the Pakistani community in the UAE. The event was attended by Pakistan’s Consul General and prominent community leaders, who praised overseas Pakistanis for their continued support of the country’s economy through remittances.
Speakers at the event highlighted that Pakistanis in the UAE are making significant contributions in business and professional sectors while also playing a vital role in the country’s economic development through consistent financial support to their families back home.
