A new directive has been issued declaring online gambling and casino applications illegal across Pakistan.
According to the announcement, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has formally categorised these platforms as unlawful. The cyber authority has blacklisted 46 gambling-related apps, releasing a detailed list for public awareness.
The statement also highlighted that the ban includes several unregulated forex trading applications, as well as apps that collected citizens’ personal data and mobile numbers without consent.
Following NCCIA’s request, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) will ensure that all such illegal apps are blocked nationwide.
