Historic Global Partnership Signed Between Warwickshire County Cricket Club and Lahore Qalandars

Birmingham: A landmark global partnership between Warwickshire County Cricket Club and Lahore Qalandars has been announced, set to formally begin in 2026. The official announcement was made at a press conference held at the iconic Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham.

Under this groundbreaking agreement, the two clubs will collaborate on player and coach exchanges, joint academies, scouting networks, grassroots programs, community projects, and commercial opportunities aimed at taking cricket development to new heights in both regions.

The partnership was made possible through the efforts of the British Pakistan Initiative (BPI), which laid the foundation for this collaboration during an academy tour held in Lahore in March 2025.

Speaking on the occasion, Ibrahim Khan, Finance Director of Warwickshire CCC, described the agreement as a milestone that will help create pathways for young cricketers, strengthen community-level cricket, and contribute to the club’s overall growth. Meanwhile, Sameen Rana, COO of Lahore Qalandars, hailed the partnership as a “historic moment,” emphasizing that it would further deepen the shared love of cricket between Lahore and Birmingham.

This strategic collaboration is expected not only to open new horizons in the world of cricket but also to bring the people of the UK and Pakistan closer together through cultural and social exchange.
