In the Ali Sherzai area of the tribal district of Karam, terrorists launched an attack on the 216 Wing of the security forces, resulting in the martyrdom of 11 personnel, including Lieutenant Colonel Junaid Tariq. Three soldiers were injured, while five others are reported missing.

According to security sources, during the retaliatory action by the forces, two commanders of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) including Commander Shaheen were killed, while six other militants were reportedly injured.
The incident occurred when a convoy of security forces returning from Central Karam was ambushed by TTP militants. Upon receiving news of the attack, Lieutenant Colonel Junaid Tariq who had been inspecting the area following a previous assault in Jogi, Central Karam, two days earlier rushed with his team to provide assistance. However, as his convoy approached the ambush site, it was attacked by terrorists, resulting in his martyrdom.
Security forces responded swiftly, cordoning off the area and launching a large-scale search operation. According to officials, intermittent exchange of gunfire between the forces and militants continues in the area.
