Farewell Ceremony Held for Outgoing Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee

A special ceremony was held today at the Joint Staff Headquarters to honour General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, NI, NI (M), as he concluded 40 years of service in the Pakistan Armed Forces.

Senior military leaders from all three services, including several former Chairmen Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, attended the event.

During his farewell address, General Mirza expressed his gratitude to Allah Almighty for the strength and guidance that enabled him to fulfil his responsibilities with commitment and professionalism. He acknowledged the dedication and sacrifices of the Armed Forces in safeguarding the country and paid tribute to the martyrs and their families for their enduring resilience.

Reflecting on the regional and global security environment, the outgoing Chairman emphasised that a strong defence remains a vital component of national security. He reaffirmed that Pakistan’s defence capability is robust, and its officers and soldiers stand prepared to counter any challenge.

Earlier in the day, General Mirza was received at the Joint Staff Headquarters with a formal ‘Guard of Honour’ presented by a tri-services contingent.
