England secured a dramatic 2–1 victory over Norway after extra time in their FIFA World Cup quarter-final, booking their place in the tournament’s semi-finals.
Norway took the lead in the 36th minute through Andreas Schjelderup, but Jude Bellingham restored parity just before half-time with a composed finish. The match remained level throughout the second half despite chances for both sides.
Three minutes into extra time, Bellingham struck again after capitalising on a goalkeeping error, scoring the decisive goal to send England into the last four. Norway pushed hard for an equaliser, while England also had a late penalty overturned following a VAR review before holding on to secure victory.
England will now face the winner of the Argentina vs Switzerland quarter-final as they continue their pursuit of a second FIFA World Cup title.
