Four police officers were martyred in two separate gun attacks in Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province of Pakistan on Sunday, authorities confirmed.
In the first incident in Lakki Marwat district, militants riding a motorcycle opened fire on traffic police personnel in the Sarai Naurang area. Three officers, Traffic Police In-charge Jalal Khan, Constable Azizullah, and Constable Abdullah were killed on the spot. The attackers fled, and a search operation has been launched.
Hours later in Bannu district, Constable Rashid Khan was shot dead by unidentified assailants while on his way from home to duty in the Mandan area. Police have cordoned off the scene and commenced investigations.
KP officials condemned the violence and reiterated efforts to curb rising terrorism in the region, which has seen a spate of attacks on law enforcement agencies in recent months.
