Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Begins Two‑Day Official Visit to Austria

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in Vienna, Austria, today on a two‑day official visit at the invitation of Austrian Federal Chancellor Christian Stocker, marking a significant moment in bilateral relations between the two nations. 

The high‑level delegation accompanying the prime minister includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi. 

During the visit, Mr. Sharif and Chancellor Stocker are scheduled to hold bilateral and delegation‑level talks at the Federal Chancellery, focusing on strengthening economic ties and boosting trade and investment cooperation. They will also co‑chair a meeting with leading business representatives aimed at enhancing commercial engagement between Pakistan and Austria. 

The prime minister is expected to address the Pakistan‑Austria Business Forum, highlighting Pakistan’s investment opportunities and economic potential. In addition, he will participate in a United Nations‑related event in Vienna on “Sustainable Development: The Path to Global Peace and Prosperity” and is scheduled to meet the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to discuss peaceful scientific cooperation. 

Officials describe the visit as a milestone that will deepen bilateral cooperation, expand economic partnerships, and promote shared goals on global issues, coinciding with the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Austria.
