Spain delivered a dominant performance with a comfortable 4–0 victory over Saudi Arabia in their FIFA World Cup group stage match in Atlanta on 21 June 2026.
The Spanish side controlled the game from the start, with teenage sensation Lamine Yamal opening the scoring in the 10th minute. Mikel Oyarzabal added a quick-fire brace in the 21st and 24th minutes, putting Spain firmly in command before half-time. Saudi Arabia’s difficult evening was compounded early in the second half when an own goal from Hassan Altambakti extended Spain’s lead to 4–0.
Spain’s fluid attacking play and defensive stability ensured they saw out the match comfortably, securing their first win of the tournament after an opening draw.
Saudi Arabia, meanwhile, struggled to cope with Spain’s pace and pressing, leaving them still searching for a first victory in the group.
