Pakistan Defeats Afghanistan to Clinch Tri-Nation Series Title

Pakistan secured the Tri-Nation T20 Series trophy after defeating Afghanistan by 75 runs in a thrilling final. The match, played in Sharjah, saw Pakistan’s spinners dominate the Afghan batting lineup.

Mohammad Nawaz was the star performer, dismantling Afghanistan’s batting with a five-wicket haul, which also included a hat-trick. Abrar Ahmed and Sufiyan Muqeem took two wickets each, while Shaheen Afridi claimed one.

Afghanistan struggled from the start: Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored only 5 runs off 4 balls, Sediqullah Atal managed 13 from 15 deliveries, and Ibrahim Zadran contributed 9 from 15. Darwish Rasooli, Azmatullah Omarzai, and Karim Janat were all dismissed for ducks, while Mohammad Nabi returned to the pavilion after scoring just 3. Captain Rashid Khan fought briefly with 17 runs, Noor Ahmad made 7, Ghazanfar scored 2, and Fazalhaq Farooqi added 7 runs.

Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first. The team made one change, bringing in Sufiyan Muqeem in place of Salman Mirza.

With this emphatic victory, Pakistan claimed the Tri-Nation T20 Series title.
