The Pakistan Army and the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China have commenced Exercise Warrior-IX, the ninth edition of the annual bilateral counterterrorism exercise conducted between the two Iron Clad Brothers. The exercise began on 1 December 2025 and is focused on modern Counter Terrorism operations with an emphasis on enhancing interoperability, refining professional skills, and exchanging best practices essential for contemporary warfare.
Pakistan and China share longstanding, time-tested defence cooperation rooted in mutual trust and strategic partnership. Exercise Warrior-IX reflects the depth of military-to-military relations between the two countries and reaffirms their mutual commitment to regional peace, stability and security.
The opening ceremony was held at the National Counter Terrorism Center (NCTC), Pabbi, where senior military leaders from both nations were present. Major General Bian Xiaoming, Deputy Chief of Staff, Western Theatre Command, PLA, attended the ceremony alongside Mangla Corps Commander and other senior officials of the Pakistan Army and PLA. The leadership highlighted the significance of continued joint training in strengthening operational coordination and enhancing collective preparedness against emerging security challenges.


Exercise Warrior-IX will continue over the coming days, featuring integrated training modules designed to elevate the counterterrorism capabilities of both armies and further solidify the enduring strategic partnership between Pakistan and China.
