Secret Angels Honoured with King’s Award for Voluntary Service

Secret Angels CIC has been awarded the prestigious King’s Award for Voluntary Service (KAVS), the highest recognition given to volunteer-led organisations across the UK.

Director Alvina Ali proudly accepted the award at a special ceremony held on Wednesday 8 April at the Mayoral Suite, Civic Centre, Wolverhampton.

The award was presented by Lord Lieutenant Derek Anderson, His Majesty The King’s official representative in the West Midlands, in the presence of the Mayor of Wolverhampton, Councillor Craig Collingswood, and Cadet Colour Sergeant Kieran Sandhu.

The celebration brought together Secret Angels volunteers, beneficiaries, partner organisations, and distinguished guests, including local dignitaries, to mark this significant achievement.

Often described as the “MBE for voluntary groups”, the King’s Award for Voluntary Service recognises outstanding contributions made by volunteer organisations to their communities.

Secret Angels was honoured for its impactful work supporting vulnerable residents across Wolverhampton, delivering vital services including food aid, cost of living support, digital inclusion programmes, and initiatives tackling social isolation.

Founded in 2021, the organisation has become a lifeline for many local families, driven by a dedicated team of volunteers committed to strengthening and uplifting their community.

This award marks a proud milestone for Secret Angels and highlights the remarkable difference its volunteers continue to make across the city.
