Consul General of Pakistan in Birmingham, Fahad Amjad, has said that the overseas Pakistani community is a valuable national asset and that every possible step will be taken to resolve their issues, ensure their welfare, and uphold Pakistan’s dignity and security.
He stated that following the success of “Marka-e-Bunyan-ul-Marsous,” the pride of Pakistani communities living around the world has risen significantly. He added that the wise decisions of Pakistan’s armed forces and political leadership have enhanced the respect and honour of Pakistanis living abroad.
He expressed these views during a meeting with a representative delegation of Birmingham-based journalists.
Consul General Fahad Amjad said that overseas Pakistanis are serving as ambassadors of Pakistan across the globe and their contributions toward strengthening the national economy are highly commendable. He noted that their positive role and cooperation are helping steer the country’s economy in a better direction.
He further stated that the Pakistan Consulate in Birmingham is committed to providing the best possible facilities to the overseas community and resolving their issues on a priority basis. “Our doors are open to all Pakistanis, and we need to work together,” he said.
Speaking on the occasion, he also praised the overseas media community for playing a constructive role in Western society and acknowledged the efforts of journalists in highlighting the issues faced by overseas Pakistanis.
Members of the delegation also presented various suggestions regarding community issues, consular services, and the promotion of mutual cooperation. They appreciated the professional approach and leadership of Consul General Fahad Amjad.
The journalists’ delegation included Rab Nawaz Chughtai, Raja Khawar Bashir, Wajid Bashir Malhotra, and Abrar Mughal. Vice Consul General Ms. Bakhtawar Mir was also present during the meeting.
During the meeting, both sides agreed to further strengthen cooperation between the community and the media and work collectively toward resolving the issues faced by overseas Pakistanis.
