A prestigious and well-attended iftar dinner was hosted in Birmingham in honor of Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) Chairman Syed Qamar Raza. The event was organized by prominent social and business personality and former advisor to the President of Azad Kashmir, Aslam Mughal.
The gathering drew a large number of attendees, including Consul General of Pakistan in Birmingham Malik Fahad Amjad, President of Pakistan Peoples Party UK Mohsin Bari, and spiritual figure Pir Sultan Fayyaz ul Hassan Sarwari Qadri. Members of the Pakistani community from various cities, as well as figures from political, social, literary, and business circles, were also present.
The event proceedings were conducted by stage secretary Wajid Malhotra and began with a recitation from the Holy Quran.
In his keynote address, Syed Qamar Raza described overseas Pakistanis as the backbone of the country’s economy, emphasizing that their issues are his own and that OPF is actively working at all levels to address them. He further stated that overseas Pakistanis stand firmly alongside their government and armed forces. He also spoke about the government’s diplomatic efforts and appreciated the community services of host Aslam Mughal, thanking him for organizing the grand event.
Speaking to the media, Aslam Mughal praised Syed Qamar Raza’s contributions toward overseas Pakistanis and expressed satisfaction over OPF’s efforts. He also thanked all attendees for their participation.
At the conclusion of the event, a special prayer was led by the head of the Sultan Bahoo Trust, seeking Pakistan’s progress, prosperity, and the success of overseas Pakistanis. The evening ended with an elaborate iftar dinner, making the gathering a meaningful platform for community engagement, unity, and highlighting the concerns of overseas Pakistanis.
