PIA to Add a Third Weekly Flight Between Islamabad and Manchester

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced that from 11 December 2025 it will increase its service on the Islamabad International Airport (ISB)–Manchester Airport (MAN) route by adding a third weekly non-stop flight on Thursdays.

According to schedule information released by the industry news site AeroRoutes, the aircraft deployed will be a Boeing 777-200ER, operating flight PK701 from Islamabad at 12:20 local time and arriving Manchester at 16:00, with the return PK702 departing Manchester at 18:00 and arriving Islamabad the following day at 06:50.

This expansion builds on earlier developments: PIA resumed direct service between Islamabad and Manchester from 25 October 2025 after a hiatus of five years.  The added weekly frequency reflects both growing demand from the Pakistani diaspora and improved regulatory standing: the Civil Aviation Authority (United Kingdom) (UK CAA) had lifted its ban on PIA flights to the UK following safety evaluations.

For passengers based in the north of England or travelling via Manchester, the extra weekly service offers more flexibility, particularly during high-demand periods such as winter holidays or family visits. PIA’s move is also likely to help strengthen trade and tourism links between the UK and Pakistan.

  • Route: Islamabad (ISB) ↔ Manchester (MAN)
  • Aircraft: Boeing 777-200ER
  • Frequency: Third weekly flight added from 11 December 2025 (on Thursdays)
  • Implication: Increased capacity, more schedule choice for UK–Pakistan travellers.
