A delegation of Birmingham City Councillors, including Cllr Sakib Khan, Cllr Mariam Khan and Former Lord Mayor Shafique Shah, visited the newly appointed Consul General of Pakistan, Mr Fahad Amajid, at the Consulate in Birmingham today.
The meeting was an opportunity to formally welcome Mr Amajid to the city and to discuss the important role the Consulate plays in supporting Birmingham’s large Pakistani diaspora community.
Discussions focused on strengthening ties between the Consulate and the city, and exploring opportunities for collaboration that could benefit local residents. From community engagement to cultural exchange and business links, both sides expressed a shared commitment to working together constructively.

Birmingham is home to one of the UK’s largest Pakistani communities, whose contribution to the city’s civic, cultural and economic life is invaluable. The councillors emphasised the importance of ensuring those communities feel represented and supported, and welcomed the Consul General’s willingness to engage.
