Pakistan to Recognise Israel? Reports of Secret Abraham Accords Deal Emerge

Pakistan, long seen as a steadfast supporter of Palestine, is now rumored to be moving toward recognising Israel. According to sources, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the military leadership have allegedly struck a deal with U.S. President Donald Trump, paving the way for Pakistan to sign the Abraham Accords. The story was first highlighted on social media by Khorasan, but its details carry the weight of plausibility.

Insiders suggest that recognition may come in stages initially kept secret, followed by a public declaration. Reports claim that religious scholars aligned with the establishment would frame the move as one aimed at protecting Al-Quds and supporting the Palestinian cause. But is this really the case?

The Abraham Accords, brokered by the U.S. in 2020, saw the UAE, Bahrain, and other Gulf states normalise relations with Israel. Now, it seems Washington is pressuring Pakistan to follow suit. Trump’s “peace plan” for Palestine calling for Israeli withdrawal from Gaza and the disarmament of Hamas could be a key factor behind this pressure.

Observers argue that American influence over Pakistan’s institutions, including the military and judiciary, is growing. Critics warn that such a move would betray decades of Palestinian sacrifices over 64,000 killed in Gaza and millions displaced.

If true, this step would mark a dramatic shift in Pakistan’s foreign policy. For decades, the Palestinian struggle has been at the heart of Pakistan’s diplomatic stance. Can carefully crafted narratives from establishment-backed scholars really convince the public? Or is this just another example of Pakistan bending under U.S. pressure?

The core question remains: Will Pakistan remain a champion of Palestine or surrender to American strategic interests? Time will tell, and that time may be approaching fast.
