In a significant diplomatic development, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has apologised to Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani following the recent attack in Doha, which resulted in widespread condemnation across the region.
According to official sources, the Israeli leader expressed deep regret over the incident during a phone call with his Qatari counterpart, acknowledging that the attack was “unintended” and promising a thorough investigation.
The Qatari Prime Minister welcomed the apology but emphasised the need for accountability and concrete measures to prevent such incidents in the future. He reiterated Qatar’s commitment to regional stability and called for respect of international law and sovereignty.
Regional analysts view this apology as a rare diplomatic move that could ease tensions between the two nations, though skepticism remains about whether it will lead to meaningful change on the ground.
