Major Step for Revival of National Sport Hockey: Pakistan Hockey Federation Announces Ad Hoc Governance and Management Committee

In a significant move aimed at reviving the country’s national sport, the Pakistan Hockey Federation has announced the formation of an Ad Hoc Governance and Management Committee.

Olympians Hassan Sardar and Islahuddin Siddiqui have been appointed as Co-Chairmen of the newly established committee. The new body will oversee the selection process of the national team as well as supervise the training system to ensure improved performance and structured development.

As part of structural reforms, corporate governance and marketing operations have been separated from technical hockey operations to enhance transparency and efficiency. Amir Ibrahim has been included in the Corporate Governance Committee.

Other members of the committee include Captain Farrukh Atiq, Shakeel Shah, Ghulam Ali Mallah, and Brigadier (Retired) Akmal Aziz.

The PHF has also announced special initiatives to promote hockey at the school and college levels. All committee members will serve on an honorary basis. Efforts will be made to activate institutions at the grassroots level to restore hockey’s prominence across the country.
