England Hand South Africa Their Heaviest-Ever ODI Defeat.

South Africa endured the worst defeat in the history of One Day International cricket as England thrashed the Proteas by a record 342 runs in the third ODI.

Chasing a mammoth 415-run target, South Africa collapsed for just 72 runs, registering the biggest losing margin by runs in ODI history. Remarkably, eight South African batters failed to reach double figures, with Corbin Bosch top-scoring at only 20.

England’s bowling attack was ruthless. Jofra Archer produced a sensational spell, taking 4 wickets for just 18 runs, earning him the Player of the Match award. Adil Rashid picked up 3 wickets while Brydon Carse claimed 2, dismantling South Africa’s batting order in under 20 overs.

Earlier, England posted a commanding 414 for 5, powered by aggressive centuries from Jacob Bethell and Joe Root, who set the stage with brilliant stroke play. Jos Buttler and Jamie Smith added crucial support, scoring 62 runs each to push the total beyond reach.

For South Africa, Keshav Maharaj and Corbin Bosch managed to take two wickets apiece, but the effort was nowhere near enough to contain England’s batting firepower.

This crushing victory not only sealed the series for England but also etched its place in cricketing history as a performance of complete dominance with both bat and ball.
