In celebration of 1500 years since the blessed birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, Al-Madina Central Mosque & Institute, Coventry, hosted its 11th Annual Grand Mawlid-un-Nabi ﷺ Procession and Conference with great devotion and reverence. The spiritually uplifting event brought together prominent scholars, spiritual leaders, naat reciters, and hundreds of devotees from across the UK and Europe.
Procession
The day began with a grand Mawlid-un-Nabi ﷺ procession, where large crowds of devotees filled the streets of Coventry, raising voices of Durood and Salam in an atmosphere of love and devotion to the Prophet ﷺ. The procession passed through key routes of the city before concluding at Al-Madina Central Mosque, where the conference officially commenced with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an by Qari Muhammad Ali Qadri.
Conference Highlights
The conference was presided over by the distinguished spiritual leader Hujjat-ul-Islam Pir Syed Irfan Shah Mashhadi, while Sheikh Allama Muhammad Nabeel Afzal Qadri hosted the event and Ijaz Ahmed Rizvi conducted the proceedings.
Renowned scholars and speakers, including Professor Syed Asad Mahmood Kazmi, Allama Yameenuddin Barkat Ahmed Chishti, Pir Syed Sultan Shah Kazmi, Allama Muhammad Zafar Siddiqui, Syed Niaz Hussain Qadri, Mufti Wali Raza Qadri, Allama Sajid Ali Shami, Hafiz Noor-ul-Islam, Allama Yousuf Naqshbandi and others, delivered inspirational speeches highlighting the noble aspects of the Seerah of the Prophet ﷺ. They emphasised unity, brotherhood, and adherence to the teachings of the Holy Prophet ﷺ as the true path for the Muslim Ummah.
Naat Recitations
The conference featured a moving Naat session, with heartfelt recitations presented by Qari Muhammad Ali Qadri, Al-Hajj Hussain Yousuf Memon, Sahibzada Syed Nauman Shah Jamaati, Muaz Masood, Mudassir Masood, and other respected naat khawans. Their recitations filled the atmosphere with the love and remembrance of the Prophet ﷺ, leaving the audience deeply inspired.
Huffaz Graduation Ceremony
A special highlight of the event was the Huffaz graduation ceremony, where Hafiz Ali Muhammad bin Yaqoob Muhammad was honored for completing the memorization of the Holy Qur’an. Additionally, 15 students of Al-Madina Madrassa were awarded certificates for completing the recitation and Nazirah of the Qur’an.
Closing Prayers
The conference concluded with heartfelt prayers led by Sheikh Allama Muhammad Nabeel Afzal Qadri, seeking the welfare of the Muslim Ummah, the prosperity of Pakistan, and peace and harmony across the Islamic world.
