Sahibzada Farhan Creates Milestone with First-Ever Six off Jasprit Bumrah by a Pakistani Batter
Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan etched his name into cricketing history during the Asia Cup 2025 as he became the first Pakistani player to clear the ropes against India’s ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah in an international match.
The breakthrough moment came in the fourth over of Pakistan’s innings at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium when Farhan lofted Bumrah’s third delivery straight over long-on for a six. He added another maximum in the sixth over, this time over backward square leg, leaving Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav taken aback.
Bumrah, widely regarded as one of the most disciplined and economical fast bowlers in world cricket, had bowled more than 400 deliveries to Pakistan batters without conceding a single six before Farhan’s fearless strike.
The knock not only lifted Pakistan’s momentum early in the innings but also marked a symbolic breakthrough in the fierce India-Pakistan rivalry. Farhan’s bold batting showcased Pakistan’s growing power-hitting depth and underlined his rising reputation on the global stage.
