A fire broke out this morning (1 October 2025) inside the multi-storey car park at Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 3, sending smoke into the air and prompting a swift response from emergency crews.
The London Fire Brigade confirmed it was called at around 9:04am after a vehicle caught alight. Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were dispatched, with the blaze declared under control just after 10am.
One car was destroyed and two nearby vehicles sustained damage, but no injuries were reported. The affected car park was temporarily closed while crews worked at the scene and has since reopened.
Heathrow Airport described the incident as a “small vehicle fire” that was “quickly extinguished,” stressing that flight operations and passenger services across the airport remained unaffected.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
