Rawalpindi, Pakistan – Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Pakistan Army, interacted with participants of the 17th National Workshop Balochistan at the General Headquarters (GHQ) today.
During the session, the COAS highlighted that Balochistan is the pride of Pakistan, blessed with vibrant, resilient, and patriotic people who represent the true wealth of the nation. He commended the ongoing federal and provincial government initiatives aimed at uplifting the socio-economic landscape of Balochistan through a people-centric development approach.
Emphasising the province’s immense economic potential, the Army Chief stressed the importance of harnessing these opportunities for the welfare and prosperity of the people of Balochistan.
The COAS also acknowledged the constructive role of civil society, particularly its efforts to engage and empower the youth. He underlined their pivotal role in ensuring sustainable development and in countering divisive political agendas that hinder long-term progress in the region.
Addressing security challenges, the COAS stated that Indian-sponsored proxies Fitna al Hindustan and Fitna al Khawarij continue to propagate anti-people and anti-development narratives with malicious intent to incite violence. He reaffirmed that the Pakistan Army is fully committed to taking all necessary actions to eliminate terrorism and ensure peace and stability in the province.
Reiterating Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace, the COAS made it clear that any violation of the country’s territorial integrity, whether direct or indirect, will be met with a firm and decisive response to protect the lives and well-being of its citizens.
The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session, allowing participants to engage directly with the Army Chief in an open and candid discussion.
