PIA Resumes Direct Flights from Pakistan to the UK

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has officially resumed its direct flight operations from Pakistan to the United Kingdom, marking a major milestone for the national carrier after a years-long suspension.

The first flight will depart from Islamabad to Manchester today, with passengers expressing relief and excitement over the return of direct connectivity. PIA officials stated that the service will initially operate a limited number of weekly flights, with plans to expand routes to London and Birmingham in the coming months.

Direct flights between Pakistan and the UK had been suspended following regulatory restrictions in 2020. After meeting key safety and operational requirements, the airline has now regained clearance to operate in British airspace.

Government officials and PIA management hailed the move as a significant step in restoring confidence in Pakistan’s aviation sector and improving travel convenience for the Pakistani diaspora in the UK.
