A major breakthrough was reported today as law-enforcement agencies uncovered the network behind the suicide attack outside the judicial complex in Islamabad, and arrested key facilitators and handlers.
According to sources, the Counter‑Terrorism Department, Rawalpindi (CTD) carried out raids in the Peshawar, Rawalpindi and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa areas, in coordination with other agencies. A total of six to seven suspects have been detained.
The suspects were arrested from locations including Pir Wadhai, Dhoke Kashmirian, and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Police sources said that investigations are underway to determine precisely what assistance the facilitator provided and how the handler coordinated the attack.
It was revealed that the suicide attacker traveled from Chungi No. 26 via an online bike service to arrive at the court complex, and had worn a mask when coming from Golra to the judicial complex. (Chungi No. 26 is on the outskirts of Islamabad.)
The explosion took place outside the gate of the Islamabad Judicial Complex in the G-11 sector on November 11, 2025, killing 12 people and injuring dozens more.
Interior Ministry sources say the bomber was an Afghan national unfamiliar with local language or currency.
Investigations show that the facilitator and handler one based in Rawalpindi and the other in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa carried out multiple reconnaissance visits to the court complex together with the bomber ahead of the attack.
The arrests and ongoing investigation underline the seriousness with which authorities are treating the attack and the urgency to dismantle the network behind it.
