Nobel Peace Prize laureate and education activist Malala Yousafzai has announced a new fully funded scholarship program for Pakistani women seeking to pursue graduate studies at the University of Oxford.
In a video message shared on social media, Malala said that after graduating from Oxford herself, she felt a deep responsibility to create opportunities for young women from Pakistan who have struggled for access to education and aspire to achieve higher learning.
The scholarship offered under the Oxford Pakistan Programme aims to support talented Pakistani women who wish to earn a master’s or higher degree at the prestigious UK institution and return to Pakistan to contribute positively to their communities and the nation.
Malala emphasised that education is a powerful tool for empowerment and social change. She encouraged eligible candidates to apply and said she looks forward to welcoming the next generation of scholars to Oxford.
Applications for the scholarship are now open and can be submitted via the Oxford Pakistan Programme’s official website: oxpakprogramme.org.
This initiative has been widely covered by various news outlets and reflects Malala’s ongoing commitment to expanding educational access for girls and women globally.
