The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has formally expressed interest in hosting Bangladesh’s fixtures in the upcoming ICC Men’s Twenty20 World Cup 2026, amid ongoing uncertainty over the Bangladesh team’s participation in matches scheduled in India.

Bangladesh have raised security concerns and communicated to the International Cricket Council (ICC) that they are unwilling to travel to India for their group-stage games, prompting discussions over relocating those matches.

According to PCB sources, Pakistan’s international-standard venues are “ready and fully equipped” to host the Bangladesh matches if co-host Sri Lanka is unable to accommodate them.

The interest from the PCB comes amid strained cricketing and diplomatic tensions in the region following the controversial exclusion of Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman from an Indian Premier League squad, an incident that has heightened bilateral sensitivities.

Final decisions on venue changes for Bangladesh’s T20 World Cup fixtures are expected once the ICC completes consultations with the Bangladesh Cricket Board and other stakeholders.
